No measuring or weighing required with our pre-portioned patties. Just thaw, peel and serve according to the feeding directions on our packaging, which also includes safe storage & handling procedures for at home.

Raw food should always be served in a non-porous bowl, like stainless-steel, for safety reasons. Our Bailey & Bella double wall stainless steel bowl is perfect with three sizes available.

There are two options we recommend, with gradual transition being our preferred.

  • Gradual transition is best to minimize digestive upset.
    • Day 1 & 2: Provide 75% of their current food and 25% of Performatrin Culinary raw meal.
    • Day 3 & 4: Provide 50% of their current food and 50% of Performatrin Culinary raw meal.
    • Day 5 & 6: Provide 25% of their current food and 75% of Performatrin Culinary raw meal.
    • Day 7+: If your dog has any digestive issues, remain at the transition stage for a few more days, otherwise provide 100% of Performatrin Culinary raw meal.
  • An alternative method for dogs with sensitive stomachs and GI issue is to feed raw for one meal and kibble for the other, ensuring at least 7 hours apart to ensure the foods are not sitting in the same part of the digestive track and may be more easily digested separately.
  • The order you choose to feed, whether that's kibble in the morning and raw at night, or raw in the morning or kibble at night, does not matter if there’s a long enough window in between digestion.

The National Research Council (NRC) makes recommendations for nutrient requirements based on research using purified diets for animals. The NRC also breaks up their recommendations into 3 parts: the minimal requirement, adequate intake, or recommended allowance. So, for manufacturers who state they are NRC compliant, it should be validated to what level. It is also important to note, the NRC recommendations have not been updated since 2006.

The Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO) have relied in part on the NRC’s nutrient requirements to generate their own guidelines, they are considered more robust and accurate. For example, AAFCO sets the recommended allowance for protein for maintenance of adult dogs much higher than NRC. In addition, AAFCO recommendations were last updated in 2014.

We choose to follow the guidelines provided by AAFCO and work closely with them to validate our ingredient list and guaranteed analysis, along with our in-house Nutritionist and Quality Control Manager.
